The Birth of Calvary Chapel Brasas Mexico

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20

The week before our first home group for Brasas was indeed one of the hardest for me and Sami! We experienced lots of spiritual warfare in all kinds of ways, but we knew that God was allowing it to draw us closer to him and get strengthened in the grace that is found in Jesus!

The day came and we didn’t know what to expect, we had our team come early to help prep and pray for our gathering. It was 7:00pm and we already had some guest come early, by 7:30 we already had a good group of people that we didn’t know, but we prayed for God to bring the people that he wanted to bring. The fellowship was great, a bit nerve wracking because we didn’t know most people and we didn’t know what we were doing! When it was time to get the study started, we gave thanks to the Lord and thanks to the people who came! We were not expecting the amount of people that came so we ended up having some people sitting on the floor but over this, we rejoice! At the end of the night we had already fellowshipped, worshiped and taught the word! We had 34 people come including 4 kids which Mike and Andrea were able to teach while the adults had their own teaching and we were so blessed to have Mike and Andrea teaching the kids!

I told everyone that it’s a pleasure to pray for them and that if they want they can put in their prayers request and I was blown away with the amount of prayer request that were written! The next day my heart was heavy and broken over the amount of precious people that came and the big need that they have for discipleship and shepherding! God lead me to this passage and I pray that you guys can pray for us according to Matthew 9:35-38

“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest’.”

Here is a quick video of what happened on our first meeting! Thanks for your prayers and support!
