Jesus Changed me and He can change you!

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

This past Easter Sunday was bittersweet for Samantha and myself as we just spent our last Easter in Vegas before we head out to Mexico City. For us, Easter week is really important for many reasons; the number of great events that we host at our church, the amount of time that our church collectively remembers the most important event in the history of mankind, and the many decisions that we see of people following Jesus.

But more personally, last year Easter was the week before Sami and I got married, so it’s always a good reminder of that beautiful week that lead up to Sami and I saying yes to each other before the Lord. Also, it was the Easter day that our Spanish Ministry at CCLV launched its first Sunday service three years ago. I am grateful for the many blessings that God has brought through CCLV Español; one of those blessings is that we hosted our first ever baptisms as a ministry this Easter and many people came and were able to get baptized. Baptism is a public representation of what Jesus has done inside of every believer and in Him we are a new creation, with a new mind and a new heart through the power of the Gospel.

One of the verses that God put on my heart for this Easter was 2 Corinthians 3:18. There are many things that I can share about this passage but the thing that stood out the most for me is the fact that Jesus transforms and changes people. As I look back at the last three Easters, there is one thing that I am for sure; I have been changing for good. I am not who I used to be and I am certain that I am still changing into the image of Christ. It has been painful, challenging and messy but it has been done by a Loving, Merciful, Patience, Kind, Powerful, Steadfast, Sovereign, and Living Christ. At the end of the day we look at where we were and where we are and all we can conclude is that God has been faithful!

Let us remember what we were brought out of and were we are heading to so we can know that it has always been Jesus from beginning to the end for His glory. God can and wants to change you into the image of His Son, Jesus!
